About RCRG

SoSueMe (Shelley Cross) founded Reef City Rollergirls (RCRG) in 2009, making us the first roller derby league to come out of Cairns, Far North Queensland. RCRG follows the international womens flat track roller derby governing body:  Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).

The league originally consisted of two home teams the Cane Sugars and Monsoon Maidens. 2014 saw a home team shake up, with new teams The Rebels and The Sirens being established.
For inter-league games we assemble our best players from these teams to form our travel team.

RCRG are a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers, including all of our female players. We are a community of skaters and supporters that live, breathe and sweat derby by allowing amateur athletes to develop their derby skills while creating a strong comradery. We promote strength, courage and confidence both on and off the track.

Our league aspires to build the profile of women's flat track roller derby by creating opportunities for all women to participate in the sport and everyone to be part of the league.
