Northern Tropical Thunder Tournament

Townsville comes alive on the Queens Birthday Weekend, June 7 - 10 when the Northern Tropical Thunder rolls into town!

Northern Tropical Thunder is a Roller Derby Tournament established to help promote and expand roller derby in the northern regions of Australia. NTT brings leagues from Central QLD, Far North QLD and Northern Territory together for the same great purpose.

2013 Tournament Teams:
- Towns Villains Roller Derby (A & B)
- Reef City Roller Girls
- Tableland Roller Derby
- Gladstone Roller Derby
- Cairns Derby Dolls
- Malice Springs Roller Derby League
- Darwin Roller Girls

NTT is a round-robin style tournament where all participating leagues play each other.

All Bouts are 2 x 20 minute halves.

The Minor Final and Grand Final are full length 2 x 30 minute halves.

RCRG Fresh Meat Intake

We're looking for new skaters, referees, non-skating officials and volunteers.

To be a player you must be female, boys you can skate as refs. Otherwise, there is only one pre-requisite for members; to be 18 years or over.

You don't have to be super fit, we accept girls of all shapes and sizes. That's the beauty of derby, there's no "one size fits all mold".

Can't skate? Don't worry, we'll teach you!

There's a little bit of paperwork to fill out with skating beginning the following weekend.

When: Wednesday June 12th
Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Where: Edmonton Masonic Hall, Cnr Hartill & Mill Rd, Edmonton

Cost:
Insurance - $60 (Skaters), $30 (Refs/NSOs)

When skating begins we do have Skates and Safety Gear available for hire however you MUST BRING YOUR OWN HELMET AND MOUTHGUARD as these are not available for hire.

Bike helmets & horse riding helmets are OK.
